Making Bright Futures Possible

The Y works to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve the nation's health and well-being and give back and support our neighbors.

When you give to the Y, you strengthen our community. As the nation's leading non-profit, the Y uses your gift to make a meaningful impact on a child, adult, family, and/or senior right in your own neighborhood.

We offer multiple ways to meet your personal giving goals:

Our Annual Giving Campaign provides financial assistance for programs, memberships and camps for youth and families in need.

Heritage Society: Planned Giving assures that Y programs will continue to change lives for generations to come.

Endowment Donations are invested. A portion of the annual income from the investment is used to address immediate needs at the YMCA. The remaining funds are reinvested to ensure indefinite support.
Example: Longtime YMCA members and supporters Susan and Charles have two goals: First, they want to make sure the YMCA of West Central Florida continues to receive support after they're gone. Second, they want to memorialize Susan's parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Jones. Susan and Charles make a $25,000 donation to the YMCA. The YMCA invests the money and each year a portion of the income from the investment will be used to support the YMCA Mission in honor of the Joneses. Plus, Susan and Charles qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction on their taxes.

Charitable Gift Annuity involves a simple contract between you and the YMCA of West Central Florida where you agree to make a gift to the YMCA and we, in return, agree to pay you (and someone else, if you choose) a fixed amount each year for the rest of your life.
Example: Dennis, 66, and Mary, 65, want to make a contribution to the YMCA of West Central Florida, but they also want to ensure that they have dependable income during their retirement years. They establish a $20,000 charitable gift annuity. Based on their ages, they will receive a payment rate of 4.5 percent, which means that they will receive $900 each year for the remainder of their lives. They're also eligible for a federal income tax charitable deduction of $6,129* when they itemize. Finally, they know that after their lifetimes, the remaining amount will be used to support our mission.

*Based on annual payments and a 3.2 percent charitable midterm federal rate. Deductions and calculations will vary depending on your personal circumstances.
